The Need

Nearly 62,000 people live in The West End of Louisville, making it Kentucky’s third largest city. 58% of families in the West End live in poverty, compared to 24% in the Louisville Metro. The median household income in the West End is less than half of that in the greater Metro area. Not only is access to Christian counseling almost non-existent [the closest Christian Counseling Center is 30+ minutes away], but affordability is a significant issue.

We believe distance and dollars should not deter people from access to excellent Christian counseling. Over the next 18 months, The Allelon Initiative will become the first established certified Christian Counseling Center in The West End. Serving West End families

Would you consider partnering with us?

Our prayer is to raise $250,000 in the next 18 months in an effort to:

  • Buy and establish our Christian Community-Integrated Counseling Center.

  • Cultivate and foster relationships within community partners.

  • Onboard and unleash three Christian Community-Integrated Counselors.

  • Continue the work of bringing excellent integrated holistic counseling to hard-to-reach places

Community Integrated Counseling Center

While these renderings serve merely as visual examples, we are passionately envisioning the purchase and transformation of numerous old, vacant brick buildings within our community. Our goal is to create a vibrant center dedicated to restoration and empowerment, where individuals can come together to learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that by revitalizing these historic structures, we can breathe new life into our neighborhood and foster a sense of belonging and purpose for all.

  • Holistic Care: Our building will serve as a hub for comprehensive support, recognizing that every individual has interconnected needs. We aim to address the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social dimensions of life through integrated services and programs.

  • Emotional Support: We prioritize mental health and emotional resilience by providing resources and a safe space for individuals to express and navigate their feelings, fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth.

  • Advocacy and Empowerment: Our center will actively advocate for disenfranchised communities, empowering individuals to take charge of their lives, assert their rights, and pursue their dreams, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.

  • Life Skills Development: We will offer essential skills training and development programs that equip individuals with the tools they need for personal and professional growth, enabling them to thrive and contribute positively to their communities.

  • Spiritual Connection: Our initiative gently invites individuals to explore faith and find belonging, honoring their unique stories. Rooted in the gospel’s grace and truth, we seek to nurture purpose and unity for personal and community well-being.

We envision a vibrant outdoor space in the back of the building, featuring a basketball court alongside a community garden. This area will provide a dynamic environment for residents to engage in sports and physical activity while fostering community connections through gardening. The basketball court will serve as a hub for friendly competition, while the garden will offer opportunities for individuals and families to cultivate plants and connect with nature, promoting health and community spirit.
